Sustainable Relationships Between the Land and Community
Carpinteria-Centered Approach
Our vision is to celebrate Carpinteria’s natural beauty and coastal agricultural heritage and encourage a community-centered sustainable lifestyle.
Our proposal includes local community celebrations in a gathering barn, a public restaurant overlooking the ocean, an organic farmstand with local offerings, and farmer’s and makers’ markets. We will also have extensive programming throughout the property on native plant education, regenerative farming, farm-to-table practices, sustainability, and more.
Future Generations
Through an innovative partnership with People’s Self-Help Housing, 41 affordable housing units will help sustain the next generation of Carpinteria’s residents. Resident amenities will complement Carpinteria’s lifestyle and honor the land.
Community-Connectivity
In addition to nearly two miles of new dedicated trails, our plans call for encouraging pedestrian connectivity with a bike/e-bike share and bike maintenance station, along with a public EV charger in the dedicated preserve parking area.
Local Economy
The Carpinteria Farm Preserve & Bungalows will support Carpinteria’s local economy and vital community services in multiple ways, including Transient Occupancy Tax revenue estimated to be $1.5-2 million annually, partnerships with local businesses, and jobs. Additionally, the bungalows will feature a locally sourced goods and services program that supports and celebrates Carpinteria’s small businesses and unique character.
